I get several common questions from people, and I’ve tried to address the most common here. If you have a question that isn’t addressed, please reach out.

Every client is different, requiring a focused, data-driven assessment to get at the heart of their goals. We work together on developing a deep understanding of those goals, your motivations, and what it is going to take to achieve them in a way that is sustainable and allows you to enjoy life on your terms.
It won’t be easy, nor will I promise a simple fix. I will be here as your partner the whole way through.

That is a question I can’t answer for you. I’m not going to give you a sales pitch that overpromises on what I can do with you. I commit to helping you determine the answer to that question together, though, and if I’m not a fit after we talk, I’ll let you know and try to find someone that better fits your needs.
A few things to know as you’re weighing the decision:
I am a licensed medical professional with over 20 years of experience working with thousands of patients and private clients (more on some specific areas below)
I am dedicated to those who trust me to serve a role in their nutrition and health goals in a no-nonsense way
I spend as much time teaching and coaching as I do provide plans, guidance, and advice. It’s important that those who trust me understand what we’re doing and why – that’s the essence of my “no template” philosophy
I am an endurance athlete, having run multiple marathons and half marathons and coaching multiple athletes on their nutrition plans

Generally, dietitian provides science-supported recommendations that have been demonstrated to work safely and effectively. Of all nutrition professionals, dietitians are the only group that is held to a common standard of education, supervised clinical training, a national exam, continuing education, and a code of ethics.
There are dietitians with different educations and specialties, but we all have a common foundation.
For more on what distinguishes a dietitian from a nutritionist, please see [ What distinguishes a Dietitian from a Nutritionist? ] on my website.

Nutrition touches everyone, and I’ve been fortunate to work with many patients suffering complex conditions in addition to everyday people looking to fine-tune their general health or in pursuit of an athlete goal:
weight loss and management
post-surgical recovery
types 1 and 2 diabetes
insulin resistance
kidney dysfunction and dialysis
cancer (during treatment and recovery)
digestive or gastrointestinal disease
inflammatory disorders
food sensitivities/allergies
nutrient deficiencies
hormone imbalances
women’s health (e.g., PCOS, pregnancy, peripartum, and postpartum)
drug/supplement optimization
Nutrition for performance for endurance racing (e.g., nutrition periodization & race day fueling)
training recovery
massing/bulking
body re-composition
reverse dieting
For any nutrition goals, there’s an element of establishing a basic understanding of what you’re doing. On top of a detailed discussion that may encompass a review of lab tests from your doctor, any direct-to-consumer tests (things you can buy without a doctor’s prescription), your list of medications and supplements, and a diet journal. From there, we’ll determine the most effective path forward together.

No. The insurance process creates a significant time investment for me that detracts from the time I can spend with my clients.
That being said, I know the insurance and reimbursement processes, and I am happy to provide supporting documentation. It is helpful to contact your insurance company to check “medical nutrition coverage”; their process is for reimbursement (e.g., forms, doctor referrals, etc.). Many clients opt to pay with Health Savings (HSA) or Flex Spending (FSA) accounts.

I offer a complimentary 15-minute with a brief questionnaire prior to our discussion so we can figure out what the best course together and if it makes sense to move forward without pressure. For some, a focused call will make more sense if there are focused questions or a clear path forward. For more complex situations, often 1:1 coaching makes more sense, though not always.

A personalized care plan and unpressured, focused time with me when you need it by WhatsApp, phone, or video call. For clients who are in my geography, I will meet in person too. Every person I work with gets access to Cronometer Pro, a medical-grade, HIPPA-compliant tool that helps me better understand your needs and how you’re progressing over time. Beyond that, it varies for each individual and may include blood work, specific tests, meal prep coordination, discounted meal delivery services, travel prep, supplement review and ordering, and other materials (think cookbooks, educational materials, and more). I work to offer full-service medical nutrition support.
